Welcome
to Grape Getaways, offering day trips from New York City to wineries on Long
Island, the Hudson Valley, and beyond. We have been offering excursions to wine country since 2004.
Our typical trip includes a prompt morning departure from midtown at 9:30 AM, visits
to approximately 3 wineries, and a return back to Manhattan in time for supper
at
roughly 6:30 pm, depending on traffic. From time to time we also organize weekend trips as well, such as our special "Winter Wine Weekend" held last March. Our goal is to visit a variety of wineries each season - so no single trip is the same.
Each excursion includes round trip transportation, lunch, tours and tastings at the wineries as well as wine appreciation pointers. Time permitting we may also stop at a local farm stand. We try to make our trips fun and informative. Naturally, you will also be able to purchase wine while visiting the wineries. What better way to make new friends while enjoying a trip to the countryside (and of course, you leave the driving to us!)

OUR 2008 SEASON |
Our first excursion this year took place on Saturday, May 3rd when we ventured out to the picturesque North Fork of Long Island. We visited Paumanok, Martha Clara Vineyards, and the new Duck Walk tasting room in Southold. Our following trip was on June 21 when we visited two excellent Connecticut wineries (Chamard and Gouveia Vineyards) and had a savory 3-course lunch (with excellent wine, of course) at the historic Griswold Inn in charming Essex, CT. As you can see from the schedule below we also had two trips to Long Island's North Fork on July 26th and August 9th. Please click on the links for more information about each trip.
